Aeonium Zwartkop, commonly known as the Black Rose, is one of the most dramatic succulents you can grow. She forms large rosettes of glossy, spoon-shaped leaves in deep burgundy-purple to near-black, held at the tips of bare branching stems like dark blossoms on a tree.

Her colouring deepens with more sun, moving from green-tinged purple in shade to an almost velvet black in bright light, and mature plants can send up large cone-like clusters of bright yellow flowers. Planted in a container or garden bed, she brings bold architectural contrast that few plants can match.
